Glamorous Castle Weddings

Today people put a lot of love and emotion into planning their weddings (or if you're like me, other people's weddings). One development of this is that weddings are held in various themes and locations. One very romantic alternative is to have a castle wedding. If you are the kind of bride who wishes to have every little detail just so, from the flowers to the bridesmaid's dress, a castle may be right up your alley.

The location of the wedding is indeed one central factor that needs to be considered when planning a wedding. Some people prefer simply being in their garden while the more conservative and traditional couples like church weddings. Some people on the other hand love castle weddings for their happily ever after while other more adventurous couples prefer outright bizarre options such as underwater weddings.

The romantic castle wedding

If you are looking for real castles, it is an unfortunate fact (if you live in the US) that most genuine castles are located on the old continent, in Europe. In fact, there are not many castles available to rent at all on this side of the Atlantic, which effectively makes castle weddings something that generally is reserved for more affluent couples. Quite a few celebrities have indeed opted to have their wedding in a castle, in fact it could almost be referred to as somewhat of a trend in those circles. This is often serves a dual purpose, in that the couple to be married gets to exchange vows in a truly spectacular environment while those owning the castles (perhaps in a rather small country) can use the PR to their advantage.

Castles come in all sorts of sizes and styles.

Two of the most recent castle weddings (at the time of writing) are those of Eva Longoria and her basketball star fiance, and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes got married in a castle as well. Although, Longoria and her fiance did actually get married legally before their slotted wedding at one of the famous French castles in the countryside.
In any case, castle weddings add to the romance and fairy tale like atmosphere of a wedding, and for that reason most women adore the idea of having a romantic castle as the location for their wedding. The beautiful castle just needs flowers and grand lighting effects to bring to reality the dreams of every bride and groom. You can also complement your buffet style food to replicate medieval times or English or French country food to make it feel like a real medieval wedding set in a beautiful castle. The combination may very well feel like you have finally managed to invent the time machine after all.

Simply booking a castle for a wedding will definitely cost a small fortune, even before you take into consideration all the other expenses of dresses, flowers, food etc. But still, if you can afford it, the well planned castle wedding will certainly delivery everything you've ever hoped for and more.
