Firefighter Weddings for you or your Clients
The latest few years have seen a great
surge of originality in the selection of wedding themes.
Firefighter weddings are as the name implies
weddings where the ceremony (for example) is held at a fire
station. It may be a very logical choice if you happen to work
with the fire department, but even otherwise it could be an
exciting alternative. Organizing the event has its unique
challenges though.
The first thing that you need to consider when organizing a
firefighter wedding is the overall budge of your clients.
Discuss with your clients how much they are prepared to spend
for the wedding so that you will know your parameters when
organizing the affair. When discussing the wedding budget of
your client, pay close attention to the amount of money
available for decorations, venue, food and entertainment.
Stay within the budget
As the main planner of the wedding one of the most important
things to keep track of is what limitations the budget has. It
is always of paramount importance to work from the budget cap
of your clients, or you may be in for many nasty surprises. If
you think that what your clients (or you if it's your own
wedding) want and the funds available aren't in agreement with
each other, it is better to start revising the plans sooner
rather than later.
In the event where your clients can no longer afford to
increase their firefighter wedding budget, try to present some
alternatives to your client to reduce the amount of expenses.
Discuss different options with your clients.
After discussing the budget of the wedding with your
clients, ask your clients to give you some ideas of what they
want to have for their wedding. Listen to what your clients
have to say and make some suggestions. Do not just say yes to
all the request of your clients.
Not disrupting their work
Yes, the client is paying you good money to get things done
according to their specifications but that does not mean that
you have to accede to all their wishes. There are things that
are simply out of control so be realistic when you discuss your
firefighter wedding preparations with your clients. For
instance, if your client wants to be married in an actual fire
station, find out first if the fire station in your locality
allows weddings inside it premises.
It is only natural that some fire stations do not allow
weddings to take place on their premises, as it might
hinder their daily work or even endanger lives. Having
outsiders running around the station could, if planned poorly,
hinder slow the unit's response time in case of an
emergency.
Still, stations that will happily accommodate a wedding
party every now and then can make for a very unique venue.
